President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged Ugandans to remain patient and focused, pointing to visible progress in infrastructure development and industrial growth as evidence that the country’s transformation agenda is yielding results.
In a statement issued on December 24, President Museveni invited sceptics to tour different parts of the country to witness the impact of what he described as Uganda’s “revolutionary methods.”
Using a Luganda proverb to emphasise steady progress, he said, “Akwata empola, atuuka wala. Bugu-bugu, ssi muliro,” loosely translated as “Slow and steady goes far; haste is not fire.”

“I welcome the doubters of our revolutionary methods to Hoima, to Lira, and to different corners of Uganda to see for themselves the results and opportunities being created,” the President said.
He highlighted recent industrial achievements, including the growing success of locally manufactured electric vehicles. “Recently, I heard that the electric buses manufactured by Kira EV travelled by road all the way to South Africa and have already secured an initial order of 450 units. This is precisely the kind of progress we have been talking about,” Museveni noted.
The President also pointed to major infrastructure investments, singling out the commissioning of Hoima City Stadium as a source of national pride. “Such developments, together with the commissioning of Hoima City Stadium—one of the ten facilities Uganda is putting in place as we prepare to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania—are moments of great pride for our country,” he said.

Museveni praised the Turkish construction firm Summa for its role in delivering the stadium, which is part of Uganda’s AFCON 2027 preparations. “I join Maama Janet to congratulate the Turkish company Summa for the good work done. We shall continue to work together and do even more,” he said.
The President concluded by thanking Ugandans for their support and wishing them a festive season. “I thank you and wish you a Merry Christmas,” he said.
