Seven students of Apac Seed Secondary School were injured following a violent nighttime attack that has shocked residents in Apac District.

Police said unknown assailants, reportedly armed with machetes and knives, stormed the school under the cover of darkness and attacked students in their dormitories. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

The injured students sustained multiple cuts and wounds and were rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment. While authorities have not released an official update on their condition, sources indicate that some of the victims suffered serious injuries.

Security personnel responded swiftly to the scene and have since heightened patrols in the area. Investigators are currently recording statements from students, school staff, and members of the surrounding community as part of efforts to establish what led to the attack.

Local leaders have condemned the incident, describing it as disturbing and unacceptable, and have appealed for calm as security agencies pursue those responsible.

The attack has renewed concerns about student safety in boarding schools across Uganda, especially amid recent incidents of violence targeting learning institutions.

Police have urged the public to share any information that could aid the investigation, as efforts to track down the attackers continue.
