MUKONO — Police are investigating a fire outbreak that destroyed a motorcycle repair workshop in Mukono District in the early hours of Monday.

According to the Uganda Police Force, the incident occurred at about 2:00am in Kitega Zone, Mukono Central Division.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Luke Owoyesigyire said the workshop, belonging to Paul Muwawu, was found engulfed in flames when police responded.

“The Fire and Rescue team responded promptly and contained the fire,” Owoyesigyire said.

No casualties were reported, although property of unknown value was destroyed.

Police suspect that the fire may have been caused by a gas cylinder, but investigations are still ongoing.
