Kampala — Makerere University Business School (MUBS) held a heartfelt farewell party to honour Mr James Oniaun, marking the retirement of one of the institution’s most respected and dedicated staff members.

During the event, MUBS Principal Prof. Moses Muhwezi described Mr. Oniaun as a “father figure at MUBS,” praising his mentorship, dedication, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that students’ academic progress was never hindered.

“James has always gone above and beyond to make sure that students never miss their examinations and that the bursar’s office runs smoothly. His work ethic and guidance have left a lasting impact on both staff and students,” Prof. Muhwezi said.

Mr. Oniaun joined UNCBS in 1993 and later became a member of staff at MUBS in 1997. He served diligently until his retirement in December 2025, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, mentorship, and institutional commitment.

Colleagues and well-wishers at the farewell celebrated his years of service and wished him a fulfilling and well-deserved retirement, highlighting his role not just as a financial administrator but also as a mentor and supporter of students’ academic journeys.
