Kampala — Police in Kampala have launched an active investigation into an alleged kidnapping of a six-year-old boy that reportedly occurred on December 12, 2025, in Ddungu Zone, Kisaasi, Kawempe Division.

According to a statement from Kira Road Divisional Police, the victim has been identified as Mpirwe Tumwesigye Abraham, a minor and son of Dr. Tumwesigye Emmanuel. The incident is said to have taken place at around 4:00 p.m. on the same day.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, Muchunguzi David, a shamba boy employed by Dr. Tumwesigye Emmanuel and a resident of Ddungu Zone, allegedly left home with the child for an unknown destination and failed to return. Since then, both the suspect and the child’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Police report that a case of kidnapping was formally registered at Universal Police Post, where relevant statements have already been recorded to aid the investigation. Law enforcement officers say efforts to trace and arrest the suspect are ongoing.

Authorities have appealed to members of the public to cooperate by sharing any information that could help locate either the suspect or the missing child. Police emphasize that such information is crucial to ensuring the safe recovery of the minor and the successful conclusion of the investigation.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to report to the nearest police station or contact law enforcement authorities immediately.
