Jinja Road Police, in collaboration with local defence units, conducted a late-night disruptive operation in the Kago and Katogo areas of Kinawataka, Mbuya I Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala, on 17 December 2025 at around 11:00 PM.

During the operation, authorities arrested nine male suspects from locations identified as crime black spots, notorious for activities including drug abuse and robbery. The suspects have been charged with public nuisance and are currently detained at Jinja Road Police Station pending prosecution.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, described the operation as successful and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to maintaining community safety.

“Operations like these are part of our ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal networks and ensure that residents can live safely in their communities,” ASP Owoyesigyire said.

Police emphasised that similar operations will continue across Kampala to curb crime and strengthen public security.
