Igara East MP and NRM flag bearer, Hon. Micheal Mawanda Maranga, has officially launched his 2026 re-election campaigns in Kyeizooba Sub-county, covering the villages of Bwera and Kitagata.
Addressing enthusiastic supporters, Mawanda pledged to prioritise poverty reduction in his next term by lobbying for increased allocations under the Parish Development Model (PDM).
He also promised to strengthen youth economic empowerment through SACCO support, including his plan to provide over 200 boda bodas to organised youth groups.

The legislator said his renewed focus on wealth creation will help young people and households in Igara East become more self-reliant, adding that the next term will build on the gains made during his current tenure.
Mawanda’s campaign launch marks the beginning of what is expected to be a heated race ahead of the 2026 General Election, as candidates across the country begin to step up political activities.
