National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has appointed communications professional Jon Fisher as its new Senior Manager for Marketing and Digital Communications, effective January 2.
Fisher announced the new role on his social media platforms, expressing excitement as he joins the state utility responsible for water and sewerage services across Uganda.
“Super excited and elated to start a new role at National Water and Sewerage Corporation,” Fisher said.
In his new position, Fisher will lead NWSC’s marketing and digital communications strategy at a time when the corporation is expanding service coverage and strengthening customer engagement through digital platforms.
Before joining NWSC, Fisher built an extensive profile in the water, communications and professional associations sector. He previously served as Vice Chairperson of the Emerging Water Leaders (EWL) chapter at the International Water Association, where he worked with young professionals across the globe to promote innovation and leadership in the water sector.
He is also a former President of Young Water Professionals–Uganda, a network that brings together early- and mid-career professionals in the water and sanitation field.
In the communications industry, Fisher served as Director of Programmes at the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU), contributing to professional development and standards within Uganda’s public relations and communications sector.
Industry observers say Fisher’s blend of sector-specific knowledge and communications expertise positions him to play a key role in shaping NWSC’s public engagement and brand visibility.
NWSC has in recent years placed increasing emphasis on customer-centred communication, digital transformation and stakeholder engagement as it works to improve service delivery nationwide.
