Global music stars Shakira and Burna Boy have shared behind-the-scenes moments from their rehearsals ahead of the historic FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show, where they are expected to perform their collaboration “Dai Dai” on football’s biggest stage.
Burna Boy posted a rehearsal message on X, tagging Shakira and writing: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”
The two artists have been preparing for the first-ever halftime performance at a FIFA World Cup final, scheduled for July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium area).
The performance will feature a star-studded lineup including Shakira, Burna Boy, Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay, with Ugandan dance group Triplets Ghetto Kids also listed among performers supporting the global spectacle.

The halftime show is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and produced by Global Citizen in partnership with FIFA. It will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising US$100 million to expand access to education and football opportunities for children around the world.
“Dai Dai” Becomes Global Football Anthem
Shakira and Burna Boy’s collaboration “Dai Dai” has become one of the defining musical releases linked to the 2026 tournament.
The song was released as the official FIFA World Cup 2026 song and is part of the campaign supporting the Global Citizen Education Fund. FIFA described the track as a celebration connecting football, music and social impact.

The collaboration has attracted millions of listeners worldwide, with fans celebrating the combination of Shakira’s Latin pop influence and Burna Boy’s Afrobeats sound.
Ugandan Representation on the World Stage
The inclusion of Uganda’s Triplets Ghetto Kids has added an East African dimension to the global event.
The Kampala-based dance group has previously gained international recognition through viral performances and collaborations with global artists. Their appearance at the World Cup final halftime show places Ugandan youth culture on one of the biggest entertainment platforms in the world.

A Historic World Cup Moment
The 2026 World Cup final halftime show marks the first time FIFA has introduced a major halftime entertainment performance during the tournament’s final match.
The organisers say the show is designed to unite sport, music and social impact, reaching a global audience expected to number in the billions.
With preparations entering the final stages, Shakira and Burna Boy’s rehearsal updates have increased anticipation among fans waiting to see their “Dai Dai” performance when the World Cup reaches its climax on July 19.
