A 22-year-old security guard, Webisa Marvin, has been formally charged with the rape, murder and aggravated robbery of popular Ugandan TikToker Namulinde Diana, also known as Daina SkyZ.

Marvin appeared before Kampala City Hall Court on Thursday, where prosecutors presented three serious charges against him, including rape without consent, murder and aggravated robbery relating to the killing of the 24-year-old content creator.

The alleged offences reportedly occurred on February 4, 2026, in Kyanja Kwaata Zone, Kampala.

According to the prosecution, Marvin unlawfully had carnal knowledge of Namulinde without her consent, fatally caused her death, and stole valuables, including mobile phones, a power bank, AirPods, luggage and other items believed to belong to the victim, valued at about Shs18.6 million.

The suspect

Because the charges — rape, murder and aggravated robbery — are capital offences under Ugandan law, the presiding magistrate did not allow Marvin to enter a plea. The case was remanded to Luzira Prison until March 3, 2026, when the matter will next return to court for mention as investigations continue.

Namulinde was found dead in her Kampala apartment on February 4, after friends became concerned when she did not respond to messages and calls. Police said her body was discovered with the apartment door open, triggering a homicide probe. Earlier arrests linked to the case included a security guard believed to have been present at the scene.

The investigation into the killing has been ongoing, with law enforcement documenting the scene and collecting evidence as part of efforts to piece together the events surrounding the tragic death of the social media personality.
