Global R&B star and actor Tyrese Gibson is set to headline the upcoming Coffee Marathon Uganda, an event that will blend music, culture, and coffee experiences to showcase Uganda’s growing global profile as a leading coffee producer.

Organisers of the Coffee Marathon confirmed that the internationally acclaimed artist will perform at AfriCoffee Park in Ntungamo on October 3, 2026, marking one of the biggest entertainment highlights tied to Uganda’s coffee promotion agenda.

“Our global coffee ambassador Tyrese is coming to AfriCoffee Park in Ntungamo,” the Coffee Marathon team announced, adding that the star will headline the #CoffeeMarathonUg event.

The initiative, spearheaded by Inspire Africa Coffee, aims to position Uganda’s Robusta coffee on the global stage by merging sport, tourism, and entertainment into a unique experience. Organisers say the event will attract both local and international audiences, creating a platform to celebrate African creativity while promoting coffee consumption and value addition.

“Welcome Tyrese to the Pearl of Africa, the home of Robusta coffee,” Inspire Africa Coffee said in a statement, underscoring Uganda’s identity as one of the world’s leading Robusta producers.

The Coffee Marathon Uganda is part of broader efforts to market Uganda’s coffee sector beyond traditional exports, tapping into lifestyle branding, tourism, and cultural exchange. By bringing a global figure like Tyrese on board, organisers hope to amplify international visibility and attract new markets, particularly among younger audiences.

The event is expected to feature a mix of athletic activities, live performances, and immersive coffee experiences, including farm tours, tastings, and exhibitions highlighting Uganda’s coffee value chain.

Uganda is currently Africa’s largest exporter of Robusta coffee, and initiatives such as the Coffee Marathon are increasingly being used to reposition the sector from a raw commodity supplier to a hub for premium coffee experiences and cultural storytelling.
