Nalutete, Mubende — A family in Mubende District is grieving the tragic death of their four-year-old son, Kazungu Daniel, who was kidnapped from their home after criminals demanded a Shs 6 million ransom.

Police reports indicate that the family was only able to raise Shs 1 million when the child was already dead. The suspect, Emmanuel Muwanguzi, later confessed to both the abduction and the murder and was apprehended in Kampala.

The boy’s body has been recovered and is currently at Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for post-mortem examination. Residents of Nalutete Village have expressed shock and fear over the incident, urging authorities to implement stronger measures to safeguard children.

This tragic case highlights growing concerns about child safety in rural areas and the increasing prevalence of ransom-related crimes. Police have called on the public to provide any information that could help dismantle criminal networks involved in such acts.
