Police in Mukono District have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Kamugisha Justas, a casual worker at Makipi Factory.

According to the Uganda Police Force, the suspects have been identified as Kabogoza Charles Kiwanuka, Ozambe James, and Mwayafu Julius Joshua. Another individual, Kazibwe Chrisisto, has also been mentioned in connection with the case and remains under investigation.

Police said officers responded to a distress call on April 19, 2026, prompting an immediate deployment to the scene. A sniffer dog was used during the operation, helping investigators trace crucial leads from the crime scene.

“The canine unit tracked key evidence, including a cap believed to belong to the deceased, which led officers to a suspect’s residence,” police said in a statement.

Kabogoza was reportedly found hiding at the location, arrested, and later confessed to the killing.

“Upon arrest, the suspect admitted involvement in the murder and implicated two accomplices, who were subsequently apprehended,” police added.

The two co-suspects were later arrested in a follow-up operation coordinated by investigators.

Authorities say inquiries into the motive of the killing and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still ongoing.

Police have urged members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with investigators as efforts continue to ensure justice for the deceased.
