The fifth season of the Kaggwa League has officially come to a close, marking both a thrilling sporting climax and the beginning of a leadership transition ahead of Season Six.
Season Five culminated with the 2005–2010 cohort, Obudux, lifting the championship shield after a competitive campaign that once again brought together alumni of St. Kaggwa Bushenyi High School. The finals, held at NileView Eco Resort, drew participants and supporters from across different cohorts, reinforcing the league’s growing status as a unifying alumni platform.

League organisers hailed the season as another milestone in the competition’s journey. “We successfully climaxed Season Five… huge appreciation to everyone that has been part of the season,” a statement from the league noted following the final.
Since its inception in 2019, the Kaggwa League has expanded into a vibrant community of over 800 alumni across 16 teams, blending competitive football with networking and camaraderie. Each season has continued to strengthen ties among former students while promoting the enduring “Akasayi” spirit.

With the conclusion of Season Five, attention has now shifted to leadership renewal. The outgoing executive committee has completed its constitutional two-season term, paving the way for fresh leadership to steer the league into its next phase.
Organisers have already opened up key leadership positions, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Technical Director, Head of Media and Branding, Publicity Secretary, and Treasurer. The new team will be tasked with organising Seasons Six and Seven, as the league looks to build on its recent growth and momentum.

League President Eng. Anoch Kambendyaho previously underscored the league’s broader purpose beyond sport. “Since 2019, Kaggwa League has been a beacon of unity and community spirit,” he said, highlighting its role in reconnecting alumni and strengthening shared identity.

As a new leadership team prepares to take charge, expectations are high for Season Six to deliver even greater competition, innovation, and engagement—ensuring the Kaggwa League continues to thrive as both a sporting and social institution.
Meanwhile, St. Kagwa High School Bushenyi, has been crowned the USSA U-20 champions of the Ankole region after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rubirizi’s Kichwamba High School at the St. George’s PTC playground.
