Nile Rapids and Stanbic Black Pirates have been crowned the 2025 Uganda Cup champions, marking a thrilling conclusion to a season of top-tier rugby action.

The Black Pirates, fresh from their championship victory, visited their sponsors at Roke Telkom in a celebration that radiated joy, gratitude, and camaraderie. Clad in their vibrant team jerseys, the players were met with spontaneous cheers and applause from staff, creating an atmosphere brimming with warmth and shared pride.

The visit was more than a ceremonial gesture—it was a heartfelt thank-you to Roke Telkom for their unwavering support throughout the season. As the athletes mingled with staff, the connections forged through months of collaboration and encouragement were evident.

“It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come together,” said Rogers Sekaziga, CEO of Roke Telkom. “Every cheer from the stands echoed the support of our staff. Celebrating this victory with them is truly special. This partnership has always been about more than just sponsorship; it’s about building a community together.”

Daniel Oboto Canowira, chairperson of the Black Pirates, echoed these sentiments: “Seeing our team grow and achieve greatness wouldn’t have been possible without Roke Telkom. They believed in us from day one, and today is our chance to show them how much that means to us.”

Laughter, camaraderie, and mutual respect marked the interactions, highlighting the deeper significance of sports sponsorship beyond logos and financial backing. The celebration underscored the role of collaboration, trust, and shared ambition in achieving sporting success.

As the Black Pirates departed, they left not only as champions on the field but as ambassadors of a vision that inspires aspiring athletes and strengthens community ties. Their victory stands as a testament to the power of teamwork, belief, and enduring partnerships.
