Prominent businessman and independent parliamentary aspirant Hon. Abraham Luzzi, popularly known as “Mr Economy,” is set to feature on the NUP Speaks Interview on December 23, in a live broadcast aimed at unpacking key national and political issues ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The interview will air at 6:00 PM and will be hosted by Nyanzi Martin Luther, with live streaming across Homeboyz Radio Ug, BLOCK FM 103.2, and Voice of Kampala FM, giving listeners nationwide access to the discussion.

Hon. Luzzi, who is contesting as an independent candidate for Member of Parliament for Kampala Central Division (2026–2031), is expected to speak on his political journey, reform agenda, and vision for the capital city. He has gained public attention for his unconventional but relatable campaign style and strong economic messaging.

A successful entrepreneur, Luzzi is the Founder and CEO of Ssebo Food Industries Uganda Ltd, producers of Ssebo Pure Maize Flour, and Ssebo Pure Gold and Jewellery Centre. His business interests span mining, agro-processing, logistics, tourism, sports, and international trade, positioning him as one of Uganda’s most visible business figures-turned-politicians.

Politically, Luzzi began as an NRM mobiliser in Mityana and Mubende, before contesting the Mityana Municipality parliamentary seat in 2021, which he lost. He later briefly associated with the Democratic Party (DP) before declaring his independent political path.

He is widely known for advancing bold policy proposals, including reducing the size of Parliament, introducing a minimum wage of UGX 200,000, promoting rent-to-own housing schemes, strengthening anti-corruption enforcement, and expanding digital governance. His media appearances and humorous social media content have helped him connect with younger voters and urban audiences.

Luzzi’s campaign slogan, “Sarah is tall,” a lighthearted reference to his wife, Sarah Luzzi, has become a viral catchphrase, adding a human and relatable dimension to his political brand.

The NUP Speaks Interview is expected to provide a platform for candid discussion on governance, economic transformation, and leadership, as listeners engage with one of Kampala’s most talked-about independent aspirants ahead of the 2026 polls.
