The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) Appeal Board has awarded Morocco a 3–0 victory in the AFCON 2025 final after ruling that Senegal forfeited the match.

In its decision, CAF said the forfeit was applied under Article 84 of the tournament regulations, overturning an earlier ruling by the Disciplinary Board.

“The Senegal National Team is declared to have forfeited the Final Match… with the result recorded as 3–0 in favour of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football,” the board stated.

The appeal had been filed by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF), with CAF confirming that Senegal breached competition rules. “The conduct of the Senegal team falls within the scope of Articles 82 and 84,” the ruling noted.

CAF also revised sanctions tied to the match. Morocco’s Ismaël Saibari received a reduced two-match suspension, with one suspended, and had his $100,000 fine scrapped.

Fines against Morocco were adjusted, including a reduction to $50,000 over a ball boys incident and $10,000 for the use of laser pointers, while a $100,000 fine linked to interference around the VAR area was upheld.

The ruling confirms Morocco as AFCON 2025 champions and brings an end to one of the tournament’s most contentious disputes.
