Beyoncé is now a billionaire — Forbes

Global music superstar Beyoncé has officially joined the billionaire ranks, becoming just the fifth musician to amass a 10-figure fortune, according to a new report by Forbes.

The Grammy Award-winning artist now stands alongside an elite group that includes Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna and her husband, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. Forbes attributes Beyoncé’s billionaire status to a bold pivot into country music, capped by the record-breaking Cowboy Carter tour, the most successful concert tour in the genre’s history.

Published on December 29 and updated on December 30, 2025, the Forbes report notes that Beyoncé’s reinvention followed the hugely successful Renaissance World Tour in 2023, which grossed nearly $600 million and cemented her status as one of the most powerful figures in global pop culture.

Rather than slowing down, the 44-year-old artist shifted direction in 2024 with the release of Cowboy Carter, a country album that opened new commercial avenues. The album fueled a high-profile NFL Christmas Day halftime performance, major brand partnerships, and a 2025 world tour that generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

According to Forbes, Beyoncé is now part of a growing list of entertainer billionaires, nearly half of whom crossed the threshold in the past three years. She is also one of only a handful of musicians to reach that level primarily through music-related ventures.

A key driver of her financial success has been Parkwood Entertainment, the company she founded in 2010 to manage her career and productions in-house. By retaining control of her music, tours, films and documentaries, Beyoncé has been able to capture a larger share of profits.

“When I decided to manage myself, it was important that I didn’t go to some big management company,” Beyoncé said in a 2013 interview. “I wanted to be a powerhouse and have my own empire.”

While she has expanded into other businesses — including a hair care brand, a whiskey label and a now-discontinued clothing line — Forbes says the bulk of her wealth comes from owning her music catalog and staging massive global tours.

The Cowboy Carter tour alone grossed more than $400 million in ticket sales, with an estimated additional $50 million from merchandise. By producing the tour through Parkwood, Beyoncé secured higher profit margins. Forbes estimates she earned $148 million before taxes in 2025, making her the world’s third-highest paid musician this year.

Industry analysts note that live performances now account for the majority of top artists’ income, often exceeding 75 percent of annual earnings. Beyoncé has been at the forefront of this trend, staging large-scale stadium tours, concert films and limited-run residencies that encourage fans to travel and spend heavily.

Beyond touring, Beyoncé has also earned tens of millions from streaming deals, concert films, documentaries and brand partnerships, including major collaborations linked to Cowboy Carter.

Despite comparatively lower album-equivalent sales in 2025 than some younger pop stars, Forbes says Beyoncé’s ability to consistently sell out stadiums keeps her among the most financially successful artists in the world.

In recent interviews, Beyoncé has said Renaissance and Cowboy Carter are the first two parts of a trilogy exploring different musical genres, though she has signalled a more cautious approach to touring in the future to prioritise family life.

“No amount of money is worth my peace,” she told GQ earlier this year.

With her latest milestone, Beyoncé further cements her place not only as a cultural icon but also as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in modern music history.
