Popular American internet personality and live streamer Darren Watkins Jr., widely known as IShowSpeed, is set to embark on an ambitious tour across 20 African countries, in what is expected to be one of the most high-profile digital influencer visits to the continent in recent years.

According to information shared by Africa Facts Zone and widely circulated on social media, the tour will take IShowSpeed to South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Senegal, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

IShowSpeed, who rose to global fame through high-energy live streams on YouTube, boasts tens of millions of followers worldwide and is particularly popular among young audiences. His content blends gaming, music, football fandom—especially his well-documented admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo—and spontaneous real-life interactions that often go viral.

Online reports suggest the Africa tour will feature live streaming sessions, fan engagements, cultural experiences and possible collaborations with local content creators and entertainers. While official dates and a detailed itinerary have yet to be released, anticipation is already building across several countries on the list.

The tour is being viewed as a major moment for Africa’s growing digital and creative economy, with commentators noting that IShowSpeed’s presence could shine a global spotlight on local cultures, tourism and youth-driven online communities. Similar influencer visits in the past have resulted in massive spikes in international online engagement for host cities and countries.

IShowSpeed has previously expressed interest in Africa during live streams, frequently interacting with African fans and reacting to African music, football and viral trends. His planned visit is therefore seen by many supporters as a long-awaited connection between the streamer and his large African fan base.
