A father has been taken into custody by police following a violent incident in which he allegedly found a young man in the family home with his teenage daughter, according to security sources involved in the investigation.
The suspect, identified as Herbert Musasizi, told officers during questioning that he was “incensed” after discovering Martin Bukenya, an 18-year-old student from Hillside Secondary School Matugga, inside his house on February 14. At the time, security sources say Musasizi believed Bukenya was inappropriately present with his 14-year-old daughter on the couple’s marital bed.
Police have maintained a policy of not publicly sharing graphic details in cases involving minors, to protect victims and respect legal and ethical reporting standards.
Following the alleged altercation, Bukenya died and Musasizi was arrested in Gulu District on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody as investigations continue and authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Uganda Police Force has been asked for comment but has not released additional details as of yet. Officials generally urge the public to allow law enforcement and the courts to handle sensitive cases, especially those involving young people.
