The Buganda Kingdom is in deep mourning following the death of Princess Diana Balizzamuggale Teyeggala, a younger sister of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
The passing of the princess was confirmed by Katikkiro (Prime Minister) Charles Peter Mayiga.
Princess Diana, also known as Omumbejja Diana Balizzamuggale Teyeggala Ndege, died at Kisubi Hospital after a prolonged illness, according to official statements and social media updates from royal sources. She was 59 years old at the time of her death.
In a statement announcing her death, Katikkiro Mayiga described the loss as a profound sorrow for both the royal family and the Buganda Kingdom at large. He urged the public to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult period and conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of Kabaka Mutebi II, the household, and the entire kingdom.
