US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced the arrest of a Ugandan national during an operation in Hudson, Massachusetts, describing him as a “criminal illegal alien”.
The agency said Jimmy Kimera was arrested on October 27, 2026, during what it termed targeted enforcement operations. The announcement was published on Wednesday by ICE Boston on its official X account.
In the post, ICE Boston accused Kimera of being in the United States illegally and having a criminal background. However, the agency did not identify the offence or offences allegedly committed, state whether he had been convicted, or provide details of any pending criminal cases.
The arrest took place in Hudson, a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. ICE described the operation as part of its targeted immigration enforcement activities in the state.
The agency also criticised Massachusetts’ sanctuary policies, which it argues make it difficult for federal immigration authorities to detain people facing immigration enforcement after their release from local custody.
ICE did not indicate in its post whether Kimera had previously been arrested or convicted in the United States, how long he had lived in the country, or whether he would be deported.
The arrest comes amid heightened immigration enforcement under President Donald Trump’s administration, which has prioritised identifying and removing immigrants living in the United States without legal status.
As of the announcement, ICE had not released further details about Kimera’s case.
