Top 10: Jose Chameleone’s TeTe tops charts

This week’s Ugandan music chart reveals a vibrant mix of long-standing icons and emerging voices, signalling a diverse and evolving music landscape.

From political commentary to party anthems and love ballads, the top 10 tracks represent a wide range of styles currently resonating with fans across the country.

1. TeTe – Jose Chameleone

Jose Chameleone returns to the top with “TeTe,” a nostalgic yet energetic track that has rekindled appreciation for his classic sound. The song’s catchy hook and Afro-pop vibe have made it a favourite on both mainstream and local stations.

2. Ntoli – Sandra Naxx 

Sandra Naxx takes the second spot with “Ntoli,” a heartfelt single showcasing her vocal power and emotional depth. The song’s message of resilience and personal growth has struck a chord with young listeners, especially women.

3. Kunsi – Vyroota 

At number three is “Kunsi” by Vyroota, a rising star in Uganda’s urban music scene. The track combines a smooth afrobeat rhythm with modern lyrical flair, making it popular on TikTok and Gen Z playlists.

4. Bobi na Barbie – Tom Dee ft Agatha

This politically flavoured track sits at fourth. Tom Dee and Agatha use clever lyrics and satire in “Bobi na Barbie” to reference the love story of Bobi Wine and Barbie Kyagulanyi, sparking both admiration and debate.

5. Tiribiza – Mark Da Urban

A certified club anthem, “Tiribiza” claims the fifth spot. Mark Da Urban delivers an energetic beat and party vibe that continues to fuel dancefloors and late-night radio rotations.

6. Who Was Here – Ava Peace

Ava Peace offers a more emotional tune with “Who Was Here,” landing at number six. The reflective lyrics and smooth melody have given the song lasting appeal since its release.

7. Milk Me – Vip Jemo ft Shani Lips

“Milk Me” takes seventh place, a daring and lyrically bold collaboration between Vip Jemo and Shani Lips. Its edgy tone and creative delivery have sparked conversations online and drawn curiosity across audiences.

8. Sumululula – Jowy Landa

Jowy Landa continues to make waves with “Sumululula,” at number eight. Her fusion of dancehall and Afro-pop keeps her fan base engaged, and the song’s catchy chorus is a crowd favourite.

9. Nabakyala – Pallaso ft Kafuba and Kisha

This collaborative effort comes in ninth. “Nabakyala” is a tribute to Ugandan women, blending Pallaso’s signature melodic style with support from Kafuba and Kisha, delivering both empowerment and rhythm.

10. Only You – Vinka and Aaronx

Rounding off the chart is “Only You” by Vinka and Aaronx, a love duet praised for its polished production and the chemistry between the artists. It has quickly become a favourite among fans of romantic Afrobeat.

Uganda’s top songs this week reveal not only what’s hot on the airwaves but also the growing complexity and creativity of local artists. With both established legends and bold newcomers in the mix, the local music industry shows no signs of slowing down.
