KAMPALA — As Uganda continues to encourage more learners to pursue science and technology-related careers, Chemistry and Mathematics educator Ssali Badru is expanding access to quality science education through classroom instruction, online learning, mentorship, and academic publishing.

A graduate of Makerere University, Badru has spent years teaching Chemistry and Mathematics, helping learners build confidence in two subjects that many students often find challenging. His lessons focus on strengthening conceptual understanding, practical application, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, preparing candidates for both the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.

With the increasing use of digital learning platforms, Badru now offers both physical and Zoom classes, allowing students from different parts of Uganda to benefit from personalised instruction without geographical limitations. According to him, technology has become an important tool in ensuring that quality education reaches more learners.

“I believe every student can excel in science when they receive the right guidance, encouragement and learning environment,” he says.

Beyond teaching, Badru has authored Chemistry and Mathematics books intended to simplify difficult concepts and improve classroom learning. His publications are used as revision resources by students and teachers seeking practical explanations and structured exercises.

He also conducts holiday coaching programmes, school seminars, revision camps, career guidance sessions, and academic workshops aimed at improving learners’ performance and encouraging greater interest in science subjects.

Outside education, Badru is involved in agribusiness, which he says complements his passion for youth empowerment by demonstrating the value of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable income generation.

Education stakeholders say dedicated teachers who combine classroom instruction with mentorship and resource development play an important role in improving learning outcomes and preparing young Ugandans for future opportunities.

For schools, parents, and students seeking private tutoring, academic consultancy, workshops, online or physical lessons, or copies of his Chemistry and Mathematics books, Ssali Badru can be contacted on 0792140217 (Phone/WhatsApp).

His guiding philosophy remains: “Educating Minds, Inspiring Excellence, and Building Futures Through Knowledge, Innovation, and Hard Work.”
