Popular Kampala socialite Charles Olimi, widely known as Sipapa, was presented before the Makindye Magistrates Court this week and remanded back to Luzira Prison as his legal case continues to unfold.

During the hearing, the court ordered that Sipapa remain in custody at Luzira until March 9, 2026, setting the next date in the ongoing proceedings against him.

Details about the charges against Sipapa were not immediately disclosed at the latest appearance, but his remand highlights the continuation of judicial processes in his matter. Supporters and legal representatives had appeared in court seeking relief, but the magistrate maintained that continued detention was necessary pending further directions.

Luzira Prison, where Sipapa will await his next court date, is Uganda’s largest correctional facility and houses inmates on remand as well as those serving sentences for various offences.

The development comes amid heightened public interest in the case, with frequent court updates and media attention surrounding Sipapa’s legal journey through Uganda’s justice system.
