KAMPALA — The Uganda Police Force has impounded a vehicle fitted with a mechanism capable of concealing and displaying its number plate, in a move aimed at curbing road impunity.

Police identified the driver as Baale Frank, also known as MC Stubborn, who was intercepted on March 25, 2026, while driving motor vehicle registration number UBQ 554Q.

According to police, the vehicle was found equipped with a device designed to automatically alter the visibility of its number plate—an act considered a serious traffic violation.

“The vehicle has since been impounded and is currently parked at Katwe Central Police Station,” police said in a statement, referring to Katwe Central Police Station.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was later released on police bond as investigations continue, and will be arraigned in court at an appropriate time.

Police also dismissed claims circulating on social media regarding the circumstances of his release.

“A video circulating on his TikTok account, in which he claims to have paid money to secure bond, is misleading and appears to be a deliberate attempt to discredit police officers and divert attention from ongoing efforts to curb impunity on our roads,” the statement added.

The force reiterated its commitment to enforcing traffic laws and maintaining order, warning that it will not be distracted while handling such sensitive cases.

“We remain committed to executing our mandate and will not be distracted until law and order are fully upheld,” police said.
