A 45-year-old man has been arrested in Kyankwanzi District for allegedly stabbing his neighbour to death after finding him with his wife.
Bosco Nsengiyunva is accused of killing John Paul, popularly known as Samporo, in the early hours of October 30, 2026, at Ranch No. 1 Village in Kyankwanzi Sub-county.
According to police, Nsengiyunva allegedly found Paul with his wife, Mukasine Venerandi, at about 3am before picking up a knife and stabbing him in the neck.
The two men, both of Rwandan origin, were reportedly casual labourers living in neighbouring makeshift houses.
Paul’s body, which was reportedly naked, was later discovered in nearby bushland, about 50 metres from the alleged scene of the attack.
Police recovered a blood-stained knife suspected to have been used in the killing.
During interrogation, Nsengiyunva reportedly admitted to the killing, claiming he had been provoked after finding the deceased with his wife.
The incident was reported to police by the area Local Council chairperson. The deceased’s body was subsequently taken to Ntwetwe Health Centre IV for a post-mortem examination.
Wamala Region Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to resolve domestic disputes peacefully rather than resorting to violence.
Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing are ongoing.
