KAMPALA, Uganda — Ugandan musician King Saha drew a large crowd to Kololo Independence Grounds on Friday night as fans turned up in numbers for his much-anticipated Tondeka E Kololo Festival.
The concert, held on August 14, brought together thousands of music lovers for a night of live performances and entertainment, with the turnout beginning to build several hours before the main show.
The event was organised by Kings Love Entertainment and featured King Saha as the headline performer. Event listings confirmed the festival for August 14 in Kampala, with general admission tickets priced at Shs20,000.
Promotional information for the concert listed VIP tickets at Shs50,000, while premium table packages were also offered at higher rates.
The size of the crowd became one of the defining features of the night, with fans filling the grounds as the event progressed.
King Saha later took to social media to thank his fans for the turnout.
“What a night! The turn-up was MASSIVE! Thank you for the love, Uganda. Mwebale nnyo!” the singer posted.
The concert also attracted public figures, including opposition legislator Francis Zaake and broadcaster Douglas Lwanga, who joined other fans in celebrating the turnout.
For many of King Saha’s supporters, the large attendance was evidence of the singer’s enduring popularity, particularly among fans of Uganda’s contemporary local music scene.
The concert was also backed by MTN Uganda, which celebrated King Saha as a veteran figure in the country’s music industry.
The event comes as Uganda’s entertainment industry continues to rely heavily on large live concerts as a major platform for artists to connect directly with audiences and generate revenue.
Kololo Independence Grounds, one of Kampala’s most prominent public event venues, has hosted major national ceremonies, cultural events and concerts over the years. The grounds have historically served as one of the country’s major gathering spaces, including for Uganda’s independence celebrations.
The successful turnout at Tondeka E Kololo adds to a growing calendar of major music events in Kampala, with several Ugandan artists staging headline concerts throughout 2026.
For King Saha, however, Friday night’s show was ultimately a celebration of his relationship with his audience.
The singer’s message after the concert was brief but emphatic: “Mwebale nnyo” — thank you very much.
