Former minister Nsaba Buturo loses daughter

The family of former Cabinet minister Dr Nsaba Buturo is mourning the death of their daughter, Rachael Buturo, who passed away on December 17, 2025.

In a formal announcement issued on Wednesday, the family confirmed the passing with deep sorrow and extended gratitude to friends, relatives, and well-wishers for their support during this difficult time.

A vigil was held at the family residence in Mutungo on December 17, beginning at 6:00 pm, to allow family members, friends, and members of the public to pay their last respects.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Bugolobi Church of Uganda (C.O.U), starting at 3:00 pm.

Rachael Buturo will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 12:00 pm in Kisoro District, her ancestral home.

Dr Nsaba Buturo, a former Minister of Ethics and Integrity, is a well-known public figure who has served in government for several years. Messages of condolence have continued to pour in from leaders, colleagues, and members of the public.

The family has asked for prayers and support as they mourn their daughter.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
