Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei won bronze in the men’s half marathon at the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sunday.
Cheptegei clocked 58:26, setting a personal best as he finished third behind Sweden’s Andreas Almgren, who won gold in 58:06, and Kenya’s Nicholas Kipkorir, who took silver in 58:11.
The Uganda Olympic Committee congratulated Cheptegei on the podium finish, while Uganda Athletics described his performance as a personal-best run.
The Copenhagen result adds another global medal to Cheptegei’s decorated career, which includes Olympic and World Championship titles on the track.
