Panorama City, California — Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the president of Uganda’s National Unity Platform, on Sunday joined members of the Ugandan diaspora for Easter Mass at St. Genevieve Catholic Church.

Kyagulanyi, widely known as Bobi Wine, attended the service alongside his family, according to posts shared on social media by Ugandans in the United States. Photos circulating online showed the opposition leader interacting with members of the community after the Mass.

“Happening now: The president H.E Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and family are attending the Easter Mass at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Panorama City,” wrote Joel Ssemakula in a post on X.

The gathering drew Ugandans living in and around Los Angeles, many of whom turned up to mark Easter — one of the most significant dates on the Christian calendar — while also meeting the prominent political figure.

Kyagulanyi has in recent years maintained strong engagement with Ugandan communities abroad, often using such visits to connect with supporters and highlight political developments back home.

There was no official statement issued by Kyagulanyi or his party regarding the church’s appearance, but attendees described the moment as both spiritual and symbolic, reflecting unity among Ugandans in the diaspora.

The National Unity Platform leader remains one of the most visible figures in Uganda’s opposition politics, and his presence at community events abroad continues to draw attention from supporters and observers alike.
