KAMPALA — Uganda Airlines has announced the return to service of its Airbus A330-800neo aircraft, 5X-NIL, marking a key operational milestone for the national carrier as it strengthens its international flight capacity.

In an operational update, the airline confirmed that the aircraft successfully resumed commercial operations with a flight to Dubai on April 17, 2026.

“We are pleased to announce the return to service of 5X-NIL, our Airbus A330-800neo,” Uganda Airlines said. “The aircraft successfully operated its first flight to Dubai on 17 April 2026, marking an important milestone in strengthening capacity across our international network.”

The airline said the reinstatement of the aircraft will improve reliability and expand its ability to serve key long-haul destinations, particularly in the Middle East, where Dubai remains one of its strategic routes.

Uganda Airlines extended appreciation to passengers and stakeholders for their patience during the period the aircraft was grounded.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to our customers, partners, and stakeholders for their continued patience and support as we remain committed to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient operations,” the airline said.

The return of the A330-800neo is expected to enhance operational flexibility, support passenger demand, and reinforce Uganda Airlines’ positioning in competitive international markets.

Management reaffirmed its commitment to safety and efficiency under its brand promise, “Fly the Crane.”
