The Uganda Wildlife Authority has successfully maintained its accreditation under the globally recognized ISO/IEC 17025:2017, reaffirming its commitment to quality, technical excellence, and professional laboratory services.
The annual assessment was conducted by the South African National Accreditation System at the Uganda Wildlife Authority Diagnostic and Research Laboratory. The evaluation examined key areas including quality management systems, technical capability, and overall laboratory performance.
Assessors praised the laboratory team for their strong technical skills in conducting diagnostic tests and maintaining a facility that meets stringent safety and operational standards. The laboratory also demonstrated robust management of equipment records, including inventory systems, calibration schedules, certification documentation, and service reports. Continued support from UWA’s top leadership was highlighted as a key factor in sustaining these standards.
The achievement underscores UWA’s dedication to maintaining high-quality laboratory systems and professional excellence. According to the assessors, sustaining accreditation under such a rigorous international standard reflects strong teamwork, professionalism, and commitment among staff.
