Prison warder shoots 3 bosses dead

Kiboga, Uganda — The Uganda Prisons Service has expressed regret following a fatal shooting incident at Kiboga Prison that claimed three lives.

In a statement released on social media, the prisons authority confirmed that the shooting occurred on February 23, 2026, at Kiboga Prison in Kiboga District. The incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals, sending shockwaves through the local community and the country’s security establishment.

According to the statement, the firearm used in the shooting has since been recovered. However, the suspect — identified as Warder Anguyo Moses — remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities have launched a joint manhunt in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force to track down the suspect. The public has been urged to provide any information that could lead to his arrest.

“Anyone with valuable information regarding his whereabouts is urged to inform the Police,” the statement said.

While details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remain limited, officials say investigations are ongoing to establish the motive and sequence of events that led to the deadly incident.

The Uganda Prisons Service reiterated its commitment to maintaining security and accountability within correctional facilities and pledged full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to ensure the suspect is apprehended and brought to justice.
