Police at Kira Road Division have launched investigations into a case of aggravated robbery and murder following the death of a 24-year-old businesswoman and social media content creator in Kyanja, Kawempe Division.

The deceased has been identified as Namulinde Diana, who lived alone in an apartment in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward.

According to police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident is believed to have occurred on the night of February 3, 2026.

Her body was discovered the following day after concerned friends reportedly went to check on her and found the apartment door open. Preliminary findings indicate that Namulinde was murdered by strangulation.

Police said a security guard attached to the premises was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of items suspected to have been stolen from the deceased. Some of the recovered property was later identified as belonging to Namulinde.

A team of homicide detectives and Scene of Crime Officers visited the residence, documented the scene, and collected exhibits to aid investigations. Statements have also been recorded from several witnesses.

Police have so far identified three suspects, with two already in custody to assist with inquiries.

The body was taken to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
