Ugandan TikTok creator Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has died at the age of 24 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in India.
Jayden’s death was confirmed by fellow TikToker Sheilah Price on Tuesday morning, sparking an outpouring of grief among his followers and fellow content creators.
The popular content creator had travelled to India for a bone marrow transplant after Ugandans raised funds to support his treatment for aplastic anaemia, a condition that affects the body’s ability to produce enough blood cells.
Jayden underwent the transplant in July 2026 and initially showed signs of recovery.
However, his condition later deteriorated and he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in August, where doctors continued efforts to save his life.
Jayden rose to prominence in late 2024 after a Christmas skit went viral, with his character and the name “Jayden” becoming widely associated on social media with spoilt city children.
His growing popularity later opened an opportunity in television, where he briefly pursued journalism before returning to content creation.
His death comes months after Ugandans rallied financial support for his medical treatment in India.
More details about his death and burial arrangements are expected to emerge.
