Kenyan comedian and content creator Kennedy Odhiambo, popularly known as Crazy Kennar, has turned the relationship between African citizens and their presidents into the subject of his latest satirical skit.
In a video posted on Monday under the title “HOW DIFFERENT AFRICAN COUNTRIES RELATE TO THEIR PRESIDENTS,” Kennar uses exaggerated scenes, visual gags and mathematical-style overlays to portray how citizens in different African countries supposedly interact with their leaders.
The skit contrasts different national attitudes towards presidents, including a particularly warm reception portrayed in Rwanda and a more chaotic relationship in Nigeria.
Kenya is presented through the comedian’s familiar style of irreverence, while South Africa and Tanzania are also given humorous characterisations.
The video has attracted widespread reactions from viewers, with fans praising Kennar for turning political and cultural differences across the continent into comedy. Some have called for a second instalment covering more African countries.
One of the running jokes among viewers has been the apparent absence of Uganda from the skit, with some joking that the comedian may have decided to leave Uganda out for his own safety.
The Ugandan omission has also attracted attention because Kennar has previously used Uganda’s politics as material. In January, he released a skit portraying a Ugandan farmer who abandons banana farming to pursue the presidency, using satire to comment on unemployment and the country’s political environment.
Kennar, whose real name is Kennedy Odhiambo, is one of Kenya’s best-known digital comedians. His work frequently draws on politics, relationships, school life and everyday experiences, while also using humour to address social issues.
He began producing comedy while at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where he studied Actuarial Science, and later established The Crazy Kennar Company. His digital work has earned him recognition both in Kenya and across the region.
His latest skit continues a broader trend in African digital comedy in which creators use familiar political figures and national stereotypes to comment on how societies view authority.
Rather than presenting a serious political argument, Kennar exaggerates the differences for comic effect, allowing audiences from different countries to recognise — and laugh at — their own political cultures.
The comedian’s growing regional appeal has previously taken his work beyond Kenya. He was featured at the Giants of Africa Festival in Kigali in 2025, underscoring his growing profile among audiences outside his home country.
As the latest video continues to circulate, fans are already asking for a Part Two, potentially expanding Kennar’s comic tour of Africa’s presidential cultures.
