Entebbe, Uganda — A powerful windstorm has caused significant damage at Entebbe International Airport, destroying property and overturning aircraft in an incident that has raised concerns about safety and infrastructure resilience.

Preliminary reports indicate that the storm struck with intense ուժ, damaging vehicles and sections of airport facilities. Several cars were reportedly wrecked, while parts of buildings sustained structural damage.

Authorities have also confirmed that at least two small aircraft were affected, including one operated by Airserv. The planes were overturned by the ուժ of the winds, although details about the extent of damage and whether there were any injuries remain unclear.

Officials at the airport and the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority are assessing the situation to determine the full scale of destruction and any potential disruptions to flight operations.

Entebbe International Airport, Uganda’s main gateway for international travel, is a critical hub for both passenger and cargo traffic. Any disruption could have wider implications for travel and logistics in the region.

As of now, authorities have not released an official statement on casualties or the cost of the damage, but investigations and assessments are ongoing.

More updates are expected as airport management and aviation authorities provide further details on the impact of the storm and recovery efforts.
