SafeBoda: You can now order 5 rides on one phone

SafeBoda, Uganda’s leading boda-hailing platform, has unveiled a new feature that allows users to request up to five rides at once on a single phone, perfect for groups travelling together.

The announcement comes ahead of the highly anticipated Watoto Christmas Cantata scheduled for December 17, 19, and 20.

SafeBoda Branding and Activations Lead, Calvin Mukooli, said the app update aims to make group travel safer, easier, and more convenient.

“Whether you’re travelling with friends or family, this new feature lets you book multiple rides simultaneously, ensuring everyone arrives at the venue on time and in the same vibe,” Mukooli explained.

“You can place up to five orders for different locations — from Makerere to Ntinda — all from one phone.”

The multi-ride option is available for both SafeBoda rides and SafeCars, and users must update their app to the latest version to access the functionality. Booking is simple: update the app, select the number of rides on the booking screen, and travel together without the hassle of coordinating multiple phones or orders.

In addition to convenience, SafeBoda emphasises passenger safety. The app features an SOS button that instantly alerts the company and authorities if a rider encounters danger during their trip.

“Safety is our top priority,” Mukooli added. “Our trained drivers, cashless payment options, and security features ensure every ride is safe and hassle-free.”

Ahead of the festive season, SafeBoda is also offering special transport discounts for concert-goers attending the Watoto Christmas Cantata, reinforcing its commitment to affordable and reliable transport.

“Don’t be late,” Mukooli urged. “Get your ride, stay safe, and enjoy the music — and don’t forget your helmet.”
