MBARARA — Ntare School has awarded Shs500,000 to each of the 23 students who scored the maximum 20 points in the recently released Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results, in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.

The incentive follows a stellar showing by the school, where 23 candidates attained 20 points, placing it among the top-performing institutions in the country.

Headteacher Saul Rwampororo commended both teaching and non-teaching staff for their role in supporting learners to achieve the milestone.

“These results are a reflection of the collective effort of our staff and the discipline of our students,” Rwampororo said, describing the performance as the best in the school’s history.

The cash awards are aimed at motivating academic excellence and rewarding hard work among learners, a practice increasingly adopted by schools across Uganda.

Ntare School, one of Uganda’s most prestigious secondary institutions, has maintained a strong reputation for academic performance over the years, consistently ranking among the country’s top schools.

Education stakeholders say such incentives not only reward top achievers but also inspire continuing students to aim higher in national examinations, which are critical for university admission and career progression.
