Hon. Rosemary Seninde, Director of Mobilisation for the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has urged party members to begin preparations immediately for the next national elections, emphasizing that early organisation and delivery on promises will secure future victories.
“I call on the NRM family to start our next campaign now. If we do our work and fulfill our promises, the next election will be a walkover,” Seninde said, outlining her vision for sustained party dominance.
Reflecting on past performance, Seninde acknowledged that the party had room for growth in the 2021 elections, when President Museveni received roughly 5 million votes.
She noted that this year’s target of 8–13 million votes was driven by higher voter turnout and an expanded campaign strategy.
“This time, our target was 8–13 million, and with higher turnout, we could have scored even more,” she said, highlighting the party’s confidence in its growing support base.
Seninde credited NRM’s success to a combination of a popular candidate and a strong, resonant message. “We were fortunate to have a sellable candidate and a strong, sellable message—protecting the gains of peace, security, and stability, as well as development and wealth creation,” she said.
Her comments signal a focus on consolidating NRM’s achievements and maintaining political momentum as the party looks toward future elections, encouraging members to remain active and responsive to constituents’ needs.
