ARUSHA, TANZANIA — Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania, to attend the 25th Ordinary Summit of the East African Community Heads of State.

The summit is being held under the theme “Deepening Integration for Improved Livelihoods of EAC Citizens.” Regional leaders are expected to discuss strategies aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, deepening regional integration, and promoting initiatives that improve the welfare of citizens across the East African Community.

Upon arrival in Arusha, President Museveni was received by a delegation of Tanzanian and Ugandan officials led by Patrobas Katambi and Dennis Londo.

Other officials present included Dr Samwel Shelukindo, Permanent Secretary in Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Amb. Mindi Kasiga; Robert Mbwasi, Deputy Permanent Secretary in Tanzania’s Ministry of Industry and Trade; John Mulimba; Fred Mwesigye; Anne Katusiime; and Ronald Bigirwa.

The summit is expected to review progress on key pillars of regional integration, including trade, infrastructure development, and economic transformation, while also addressing emerging priorities aimed at fostering sustainable development and shared prosperity across the region.

President Museveni’s participation underscores Uganda’s continued commitment to advancing the goals of the East African Community and strengthening regional cooperation.
