Goalie Yassine Bounou receives AFCON Golden Glove

Reigning CAF Goalkeeper of the Year, Yassine Bounou, has been awarded the Golden Glove for his outstanding performances at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025, capping a remarkable campaign for Morocco.

Bounou was a rock between the posts, keeping five clean sheets in seven matches—tied for the most in the tournament alongside Senegal’s Édouard Mendy. His commanding presence helped Morocco concede just two goals en route to the final, highlighting his consistency, composure, and influence for the Atlas Lions.

Throughout the tournament, the veteran goalkeeper produced crucial saves at pivotal moments, including decisive stops in the knockout stages and a commanding display in the semi-final that played a key role in sending Morocco through to the final.

Even in Morocco’s narrow 1–0 extra-time defeat to Senegal, Bounou’s performances stood out, earning him the Golden Glove award.

The accolade adds to Bounou’s decorated career and reinforces his status as CAF Goalkeeper of the Year, while recognising his vital contribution to Morocco’s impressive run at AFCON 2025.
