Kampala, Uganda — The Uganda Police Force has arrested three men in connection with a viral video showing a group violently assaulting an individual after scaling a perimeter fence in Katwe.

Police confirmed that the suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation targeting criminal gangs in Makindye Division. The individuals in custody have been identified as Sali Ethan, also known as “Unruly,” Sali Isaac, and Sejongo Isaac.

“The identity and whereabouts of the victim are not yet known,” police spokesperson Rachael Kawala said. “We urge the individual seen being assaulted, or anyone with relevant information, to report to the nearest police station to support ongoing investigations.”

Authorities warned the public against engaging in mob justice or other acts of lawlessness, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing. Efforts to apprehend additional suspects connected to the incident continue, and further updates will be provided as the case develops.

This operation is part of the police’s broader strategy to curb criminal activity in urban divisions, particularly targeting gangs involved in violent offenses and property crimes.
