3 perish in crash on Entebbe expressway

Three people have been confirmed dead following a fatal road crash at the Impala Interchange along the Entebbe Expressway in the early hours of March 16, 2026.

According to the Uganda Police Force, the crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. and involved a Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UBG 734S.

Traffic police spokesperson Michael Kananura said the vehicle was being driven by Ssenyonjo Bosco, a businessman and resident of Masaka, who was travelling with family members towards Entebbe at the time of the incident.

Preliminary findings indicate that the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to speeding. The car is said to have first rammed into the base of a street light pole before colliding with a road pillar and overturning عدة times.

Police confirmed that three occupants, including the driver, died instantly at the scene, while two others sustained serious injuries.

A team of traffic officers responded promptly, rescuing the injured victims and rushing them to Grade B Hospital for initial medical attention before they were referred to another health facility for further management.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to City Mortuary for postmortem examinations as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.

Police have once again cautioned motorists against speeding, especially on highways, warning that reckless driving remains a leading cause of fatal accidents on Uganda’s roads.
