Kampala — Ugandan music star Fille Mutoni has shared a positive update on her journey since completing rehabilitation, saying she is in a healthier, happier place and focused on rebuilding her life and career.
Fille, once one of Uganda’s most prominent female artists, stepped back from the spotlight after publicly confronting challenges related to substance abuse. Her struggles with addiction had slowed her career and limited her presence in the entertainment industry.
In recent months, she has spoken candidly about her recovery, describing how rehabilitation marked a turning point. The singer said she has found peace and fulfilment through gospel music and has embraced a fresh start away from past pressures.

She emphasised that she is “peaceful and happy,” urging fans not to worry about her reduced social media activity and absence from mainstream entertainment.
Fille has also highlighted lifestyle changes she made to support her sobriety, including deliberately stepping away from using a smartphone after rehab to avoid triggers and maintain focus on her wellbeing.
She explained that avoiding environments and content associated with substance use has helped her stay on a healthier path.
While she has adopted a more private life, Fille has expressed gratitude for the support of friends, fellow musicians and others who have encouraged her recovery, and she remains optimistic about the future.
Her story reflects a broader conversation in Uganda’s entertainment community about mental health, recovery and resilience, with Fille serving as an example of someone who continues to rebuild and redefine her career after hardship.
