MUKONO, Uganda — Uganda Christian University (UCU) has announced the death of Ms. Pamela Tumwebaze, the Director of Student Affairs and a member of the university’s Senior Management team.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, UCU said Tumwebaze passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ms. Pamela Tumwebaze,” the university said, describing her as a key member of the institution’s leadership and student welfare administration.

UCU called on the university community and the public to keep her children, immediate family and loved ones in prayer as they mourn her loss.

“Please uphold her children, immediate family and loved ones in prayer,” the statement added.
By press time, details regarding funeral arrangements and burial plans had not yet been communicated.

The university said further information will be shared in due course.

Tumwebaze’s death has shocked members of the UCU community, where she was widely known for her role in overseeing student affairs and contributing to the university’s senior management decisions.
