Uganda’s newest professional accountants are set to receive their diplomas on 6 March, as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) announced during the release of the December 2025 examination results at Protea Hotel by Marriott, Kampala Skyz, Naguru.

CPA Timothy David Ediomu, President of ICPAU, said the upcoming 16th graduation ceremony will celebrate CPA, CTA, and ATD finalists who completed their courses in 2025. “This ceremony marks an important milestone for our students. I encourage all finalists to attend as we celebrate your academic achievements,” he said.

Addressing candidates, CPA Ediomu congratulated those who passed the December examinations and encouraged them to enrol as Associate members as they prepare to become full members. “Uganda needs more professional accountants who are ethical, skilled, and committed to the transformation of our country,” he said.

For those who did not pass, he emphasised resilience and preparation. “Sitting for these examinations is an achievement on its own. Your journey has not ended; it has simply taken a little turn. Begin preparing early for the 2026 diets and seek feedback. Believe in your potential, and look forward to celebrating your success in the near future,” he said.

CPA Ediomu also shared updates on key ICPAU initiatives for 2026. These include virtual student engagement activities scheduled from 23 to 31 March, early adoption of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, and the rescheduled Accountancy Service Awards set for 10 April.

Concluding his remarks, he expressed gratitude to the Public Accountants Examinations Board, examiners, invigilators, Secretariat staff, and media partners for their contributions. “To all our students, whether celebrating or rebuilding, I encourage you to carry forward a spirit of courage and intention in 2026,” he said.

The ICPAU graduation ceremony promises to be a landmark event in Uganda’s accountancy profession, bringing together new professionals ready to advance ethical and competent financial practices nationwide.
