‘Starboy’ Wizkid bags 3 awards in US

NEWARK, New Jersey — Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid was the big winner at the 11th Annual African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA) 2025, held virtually with winners announced on December 20, 2025.

The “Starboy” artist claimed three major awards, cementing his status as one of Africa’s most influential musicians.

Wizkid took home: Best Male Artist, Album of the Year for his sixth studio album, Morayo and Best Music Video for “MMS” featuring Asake.

His team also picked up accolades: Best DJ of the Year: DJ Tunez and Best Manager of the Year: Jada Pollock.

The awards highlight Wizkid’s continued dominance in African music, following a prolific 2025 marked by critical acclaim and international recognition. Morayo, released in November 2024, has enjoyed sustained success across streaming platforms and charts worldwide, showcasing Wizkid’s evolving artistry and personal tribute to his late mother.

A Track Record of Success

Wizkid’s 2025 victories add to a decorated career that includes major wins at the NAACP Image Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, BET Awards, The Headies, and even the Grammy Awards for collaborations such as “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyoncé and “Essence” with Tems & Justin Bieber.

Notably, DJ Tunez, Wizkid’s long-time collaborator, also recently won the Best Continental DJ Award at the 2025 Entertainment Arts Excellence Awards, further solidifying the Starboy camp’s influence.
