Miss Uganda 2023/24 and first runner-up Miss World Africa, Hannah Karema, has been recognised for her impact beyond the runway after receiving the Positive Change Award for Social Impact in Fashion at the Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards 2025 (ASFAS) fashion showcase.
Karema, a humanitarian and “Beauty with a Purpose” winner at the Miss World platform, attended ASFAS for the first time, describing the experience as both humbling and inspiring.

In a message shared on her social media platforms, she expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that the award affirmed her commitment to using fashion as a tool for positive social change.
“I attended ASFAS for the very first time, and I’m honoured to receive the Positive Change Award for social impact in fashion,” Karema said. “I’m grateful beyond words.”

She also paid tribute to her creative team, thanking her designer, Dyna Vence, for bringing her vision to life, as well as her makeup artist, Glam by Keith, for the look that complemented her message on the runway.
Karema, who has consistently championed humanitarian causes during her reign as Miss Uganda, has gained continental recognition following her strong performance at the Miss World competition, where she emerged as first runner-up Miss World Africa.

Her latest accolade adds to a growing list of achievements that underscore her influence at the intersection of beauty, purpose and social advocacy, positioning her as a leading young voice for positive change in Uganda and beyond.
